Water Minister discusses with UNICEF 2022 projects

Minister of Water and Environment Tawfeeq al-Sharjabi discussed Thursday with Representative of UNICEF in Yemen Philip Domini and Director of the organization's office in Aden Charles Nozoki a number of issues associated with water and sanitation projects implemented by UNICEF.
Al-Sharjabi pointed out to a number of observations to be considered by the organization while managing donors' financing, stressing necessity of making joint working plan with the ministry for this year and making transparent mechanism during choosing companies, which will implement projects.
He also stressed importance of reconsidering long-term projects with contractors and replacing them with transparent and flexible mechanism, pointing out to necessity of committing to timetable of payments needed for implementing the works.
For his part, the UN official confirmed continuous support by the organization to Yemen to improve services and taking care of sanitation issues, confirming keenness of UNICEF to consider all observations and to coordinate with the ministry while implementation all projects and activities.
