The Yemeni Network for Rights and Freedoms reported that the Iranian-backed Houthi Terrorist Militias-laid landmines killed 1104 and injured 1429 civilians during the time from January 2017 to March 2026. For material damages, 2414 incidents were reported due to the anti-personnel and anti-armor landmines planted randomly by the militiamen.

The Yemeni Network for Rights and Freedoms reported that the Iranian-backed Houthi Terrorist Militias-laid landmines killed 1104 and injured 1429 civilians during the time from January 2017 to March 2026. For material damages, 2414 incidents were reported due to the anti-personnel and anti-armor landmines planted randomly by the militiamen.
In a report published on the International Day for Mine Awareness, the network reported that 232 children and 98 women were killed out of 774 civilian victims, while 792 civilians sustained injuries among of them 316 children and 171 women.
The reported stated that 693 of the wounded people suffer from permanent disabilities, including 252 cases of limb amputation and two cases of blindness.
According to the report, the governorate of Taiz topped the list of the most affected in terms of the number of deaths, with 198 cases, followed by Hodeida with 127, then Marib with 120, al-Baydha with 98 , al Jawf with 97, Lahj with 93, Hajja with 71, and Saada with 56 cases. The remaining cases were distributed to other governorates.
In terms of material damage, the network recorded the destruction of 998 buildings using high-explosive landmines, including 712 houses, 52 schools and Quran teaching, 48 government offices, 9 private offices, in addition to 62 mosques and 22 commercial stores.
The report also documented 368 incidents of landmine explosions planted in various means of transportation in 14 Yemeni governorates, in addition to booby-trapping 26 bridges 18 water wells, and 46 farms that were completely destroyed.
