The Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Salem Saleh bin Braik, convened for its regular meeting to discuss recent developments on various fronts, including politics, economy, services, military, and security.
The meeting also reviewed government performance reports, field supervision, and efforts to address natural disasters.
The Cabinet reviewed preliminary reports on the damage caused by recent floods and rains in several governorates, as well as the government's coordinated efforts with local authorities to respond to the disaster.
The reports highlighted significant damage, including loss of life, property destruction, and disruptions to infrastructure, water, and electricity supplies, and agricultural lands
The Cabinet emphasized the importance of prioritizing citizen protection, rescue operations, and assistance to affected families. It also called on the international community to contribute to supporting relief efforts and national initiatives to adapt to climate change
The meeting also discussed ongoing efforts to monitor markets, reduce prices of goods and services, and ensure that the recent improvement in the national currency's exchange rate benefits all citizens.
The Cabinet stressed that any attempts to evade or circumvent fair price reductions will face strict measures.
