ANKARA-SABA
The Central Bank of Turkey lowered today, Thursday, the interest rate by 100 basis points from 40.5 percent to 39.5 percent on one-week repo operations.

According to the Turkish news agency (Anadolu), this is based on a decision made by the Bank's Monetary Policy Committee during a meeting chaired by Central Bank Governor Şahap Kavcioglu.

The committee decided to reduce the overnight lending interest rate from 43.5% to 42.4% and the overnight borrowing interest rate from 39% to 38%, noting that the tight monetary policy will continue until price stability is achieved and will work to further reduce inflation.
