The total public debt in Germany rose to 2,608.8 billion euros by the end of the third quarter of 2025, an increase of 54.8 billion euros, equivalent to 2.1 percent, compared to the second quarter of the same year.
The German Federal Statistical Office stated today that federal government debt rose to 1,808.4 billion euros, an increase of 44.0 billion euros, equivalent to 2.5 percent in the third quarter of 2025 compared to the previous quarter.
The Statistical Office also pointed out that state debts amounted to 613.9 billion euros at the end of the third quarter of 2025, an increase of 4.1 billion euros, equivalent to 0.7 percent compared to the previous quarter.
