Parliament Speaker Sheikh Sultan al-Barakani received Wednesday in the premises of the High Commission for Human Rights here the High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk.

Al-Barakani discussed with Turk Houthi militia's crimes and violations and issuing death verdicts against opposing parliament members, politicians, activists and senior officials, in addition to bombing houses, looting possessions, recruiting children as soldiers and spreading hatred and death incitements.

He confirmed significance of the role of the HCHR to face these practices and necessity of coordination with concerned authorities to protect Yemeni people against crimes of Houthi terrorist militia, calling for practical and serious steps towards what is happening.

For his part, the High Commissioner expressed regret for hindering renewal of the UN truce by Houthi militia and for not allowing to workers of the High Commission to do their duties, confirming that rights, freedoms and politics must be protected, pointing out that the commission is following up what is happening on the ground.

He announced his full solidarity with the Yemeni people and protecting it against any violations, showing his understandings to situations and suffering of Yemeni people and confirmed that the commission saves no effort to end the humanitarian crisis.
