EU Condemns US Sanctions Against Judges at the International Criminal Court

Senior officials of the European Union condemned the sanctions imposed by the United States against four judges at the International Criminal Court.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated in a post on her X platform: "The International Criminal Court holds perpetrators of the world's most heinous crimes accountable and gives victims a voice."
She emphasized the need for the court to operate freely without pressure, asserting that the EU will "always defend global justice and respect international law."
The EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas also commented on X, stating that the International Criminal Court must remain free from any pressure and committed to its principles, and that they will always support its vital work and protect its independence.
Earlier, the US administration imposed sanctions on four judges at the International Criminal Court in response to the court issuing an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
