The Chief of the Yemeni Coast Guard, Major General Khalid Al-Qamali, held talks today with the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Yemen on strengthening joint cooperation in maritime security and supporting the capabilities of the Coast Guard.
During the meeting, Al-Qamali reviewed the key responsibilities and ongoing efforts of the Coast Guard, including maritime security operations, anti-smuggling activities, search and rescue missions, and the protection of maritime navigation. He also outlined the institution’s needs for developing its operational and technical capabilities.
The two sides discussed future cooperation opportunities in training, capacity building, and technical support, aimed at enhancing the readiness of the Yemeni Coast Guard and enabling it to perform its duties more efficiently and effectively.
Al-Qamali emphasized the Coast Guard’s commitment to expanding cooperation with the Republic of Korea and benefiting from its advanced maritime expertise to strengthen maritime safety and security and support regional stability.
