The Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Shaya Mohsen al-Zindani, has affirmed that combating corruption is a national priority and a shared responsibility requiring the integration of efforts across all state institutions.
He stressed that the government is continuing to implement financial and administrative reforms, develop oversight and accountability systems, and provide an enabling environment for oversight bodies to perform their duties with independence and efficiency.
This came during his meeting on Tuesday in the temporary capital, Aden, with the Chair of the National Anti-Corruption Commission, Judge Afrah Badwilan, where they discussed coordination and cooperation between the government and the commission, as well as efforts to strengthen the national integrity system and enhance mechanisms for preventing and combating corruption.
The Prime Minister was briefed on the commission’s ongoing activities, programs, and plans, as well as the challenges it faces. He also reviewed procedures related to receiving reports and complaints, investigating them, and following up on corruption cases in accordance with the law, in a way that strengthens public trust in state institutions and reinforces principles of good governance.
