Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Qasem Buhaybeh launched Monday the National Cancer Control Strategy for the years 2025-2030, developed by the National Cancer Control Program.

The strategy includes various topics related to cancer and its current status in Yemen, its objectives, priority actions, components of the national cancer control strategy, a cancer support fund, human resources, and program management and coordination.

Minister Buhaybeh emphasized the commitment to achieving the strategy's goals in combating cancer, which has reached significant levels affecting the health sector.

He noted that the ministry is adopting several developmental projects that will soon be launched in Aden and other governorates.

He called for the necessity of collaboration with other governorates to establish treatment centers for cancer patients, highlighting the ministry's efforts to introduce several important vaccines to prevent disease spread.

For his part, Dr. Jamal Abdulhamid, the General Director of the National Cancer Control Program, confirmed that the strategy's achievement represents the fruit of joint efforts among various stakeholders and partners, outlining the different phases the strategy went through, marking the beginning of a new phase aimed at achieving tangible improvements in patient care quality.
Additionally, Dr. Abdul Wahab al-Nihmi, the Director of Non-Communicable Disease Programs at the World Health Organization, noted that the strategy's final formulation reflects the community's significant needs and the ambition to reduce morbidity and mortality, hoping it will contribute to prevention, early diagnosis, treatment and follow-up.
