Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed bin Mubark has made it clear that the government is very keen to protect trade unions and civil society organizations and to support their activities.

He said " The government is committed itself to protect public freedoms, including freedom of expression and press, categorically rejecting all sorts of constraints may curtail the press freedoms".

Dr. bin Mubarak has ordered to abolish any measures against the activity of the Yemeni Journalists Syndicate (YJS), which is one of the oldest trade union in the country, established in 1976.

"All ministries and government's bodies must be committed to protect freedom of expression, make information available for the journalists and media men and women so that they can do their own job, play their role constructively in sustaining the government's efforts to correct irregularities" he stressed.

In a press statement to the Yemeni News Agency (SABA) the Prime Minister pointed out to fighting corruption as a top priority the government has been working on, saying that the fourth power" media" has a key role to play to contribute to the battle against it.

" The media is key partner in fighting corruption and doing the national duties to serve the interests of the fellow citizens", bin Mubarak said, adding" We're looking forward to a helpful role by the media men and women in providing the constructive and objective criticism that is based on the public interest".

The Prime Minister hailed the patriotic role of the journalists, media men and women in the ongoing battle to restore the state's institutions, eliminate the Iranian sponsored Houthi militias' coup, despite the oppressive practices and grave violations they have been subjected to by the terrorist Houthi militias, including killing, abduction, enforced disappearances.

Bin Mubrak urged the media men and women to keep on their journalist mission, shedding lights on the grave misery created by the Houthis' coup, the grave violations and crimes the militiamen committed against the fourth power and the Yemeni people, resisting the militias' racist and sectarian discourse.
