A memorandum of understanding was signed for the development of the water and sanitation sector in Yemen with the Arab Water Experts Network in the Egyptian capital today on the sidelines of the meetings of the Arab Ministerial Water Council.

The memorandum was signed by the Minister of Water and Environment, Engineer Tawfiq Al-Sharjabi, and the Chairman of the Arab Water Experts Network, Engineer Mazen Ghanem.

Al-Sharjabi stressed the importance of the agreement, which will work to support and develop water facilities in Yemen through preparing assessment studies of the water situation, diagnosing existing challenges in the water and sanitation sector, providing technical assistance to develop the sector, and searching for funding sources for priority needs, according to the evaluation results.
