Deputy Governor of Marib Abd-Rabbu Miftah discussed Thursday with Chairman of the Mercy International Association Shadi Dha'Dha' humanitarian partnership for alleviating suffering of displaced people and the hosting community in the province, which has received more than 60 percent of displaced people from different provinces.
Miftah was briefed by the chairman of the organization on the nature of the visit, which aims at boosting humanitarian partnership with Marib's local authority, in addition to inspecting humanitarian needs and their priorities in choosing interventions projects to be included in 2023 plan.
Dha'Dha' pointed out that the organization is planning next year to transfer from emergency humanitarian interventions into interventions of developmental and sustainable dimension and will focus on projects of improving livelihoods, enabling, support, protection, education and health.
Miftah welcomed humanitarian partnership with the organization, hoping its expansion and enhance coordination with the local authority for providing more facilitations and assistances.
He reviewed humanitarian situation in the province and negative impacts of economic deterioration and world food crisis over Russian-Ukrainian war, which caused increase of food prices and goods.
He confirmed that the local authority relies on humanitarian partners to help it facing humanitarian challenges and alleviating suffering of displaced persons and the hosting community.
