Minister of Oil, UN discuss coordination about Safer Tanker problem

Minister of Oil and Minerals Dr. Saaid Ashamacy met today, Monday, in the temporary capital Aden with the UN's Deputy Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs in Yemen Digo Zorrella.

The session aimed to discuss practical steps and underway efforts to manage Safer Oil Tanker problem to avert unbearable environmental disaster.

Ashamacy stated that the government is deeply concerned about the decaying tanker, very keen to contribute to the international efforts aiming to handle the tanker's problem before it is too late.

The UN official cited the UN's plan and practical steps to handle Safer Tanker's problem. He noted that a UN delegation is going to arrive in Aden next week to discuss the UN's efforts about Safer Tanker with the Presidential Leadership Council and the government.
