MARIB – SABA
Deputy Governor of Ma’rib, Dr. Abd Rabbu Miftah, held separate discussions with the delegations of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) over the exacerbated humanitarian situation in the governorate, which has received more than 60 percent of the IDPs in Yemen, in addition to the continuation of the displacement process from various governorates and areas under the control of the Houthi militia, and the widening gap between the increasing humanitarian needs of the displaced and the host community.
Miftah discussed with the OCHA delegation the importance of strengthening the efforts and the role of international organizations in helping the local authority to face the humanitarian challenges imposed by the large waves of displacement to the Ma’rib Governorate that continues to this day, and alleviating the tragic situation of the displaced and the host communities and providing them with the minimum emergency humanitarian needs.
