Bin-Mubarak briefs US organizations on Yemen's situations

Yemen's embassy in the United States organized on Saturday a meeting with US organizations on latest economic and humanitarian situations in Yemen for providing service and development services.

Ambassador Ahmad Awadh bin-Mubarak welcomed representatives of US non-government organizations operating in humanitarian and development fields and representatives of US State Department and valued the role played by these organizations in supporting humanitarian and development activities.

He confirmed keenness of the government of facilitating all obstacles facing the activities of these organizations for providing services to citizens and alleviating their suffering.

Bin-Mubarak presented detailed explanation on the economic and humanitarian situation in Yemen, pointing out that there are many challenges facing it over deterioration of the domestic product and the state's revenues over the war and Houthi militia's control on the custom and taxes revenues.

"The humanitarian crisis facing our country requires integration of international efforts for supporting Yemen, especially in health sector ….and food sector," said bin-Mubarak.

The government is keen on boosting importing food items and supporting small projects sector, stressing on communication with the Supreme Relief Committee and studying its projects, which reflect its needs in different fields, led by health and food sector, he said.

He reaffirmed support of the government to the organizations wanting to implement humanitarian projects in Yemen.
