Airlines canceled more than 1,500 flights in the United States today, Monday, for the fourth consecutive day, amid continued government flight reductions and the absence of air traffic control staff.

The flight tracking website Flight Aware indicated that more than 1,550 flights had been canceled by 7:45 a.m.

Eastern Time, while 1,200 flights were delayed, after 2,950 flights were canceled and nearly 10,800 flights delayed on Sunday, marking the worst single day for flight disruptions since the government shutdown began on October 1.
