The price of gold jumped over the $3,900 per ounce mark for the first time today, Monday, driven by increased demand for safe-haven assets amid a U.S. government shutdown.
Spot gold rose 1.3 percent to $3,938.91 per ounce.
U.S. gold futures for December delivery also climbed 1.3 percent to $3,961.90.
The price of gold jumped over the $3,900 per ounce mark for the first time today, Monday, driven by increased demand for safe-haven assets amid a U.S. government shutdown.
Spot gold rose 1.3 percent to $3,938.91 per ounce.
U.S. gold futures for December delivery also climbed 1.3 percent to $3,961.90.
