The International Monetary Fund (IMF) announced a reduction in its global growth forecasts to 2.8 percent for 2025 and 2.0 percent for 2026.

In its annual report, the bank warned that the growth outlook over the next five years is "the weakest in decades," attributing this slowdown to an economic environment burdened by uncertainty due to escalating trade tensions, rapid technological changes, climate change and the repercussions of geopolitical conflicts.
