Japan reveals emergency economic package to manage effects of U.S. tariffs

The Japanese government announced today, Friday, a package of emergency economic measures to counter the negative effects of high tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump.

According to Kyodo News Agency, the package includes five main pillars, including supporting corporate finance, stimulating consumption and reducing the burden on Japanese exports, especially in the automotive and steel sectors, to reduce economic losses.

The government, led by Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, has pledged to cut gasoline and diesel prices by 10 yen per liter, subsidize energy bills and expand low-interest loans to small businesses from next month.
