QCB's foreign exchange reserves rise 3.81 percent

The Qatar Central Bank's (QCB) international reserves and foreign currency liquidity increased by 3.81 percent in February to 255.916 billion riyals, compared to 246.509 billion riyals in the same month last year.

The QCB revealed data published by the Qatar News Agency (QNA) that its official reserves increased by the end of February, compared to the end of the same month of 2024, about 9.218 billion riyals, to reach 196.817 billion riyals, despite the decline in the QCB's balances of bonds and foreign treasury bills by about 13.175 billion riyals, to the level of 125.790 billion riyals last February.

According to the data, the official reserves consist of main components, namely bonds, foreign treasury bills, cash balances with foreign banks, gold holdings, special drawing rights deposits and the State of Qatar's share in the International Monetary Fund.

In addition to official reserves, there are other liquid assets (foreign currency deposits) so that together they form what are known as total international reserves..
