British Minister of State for Development Anneliese Dodds has sounded alarm over the risks that come from stopping the work of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees "UNRWA" next week.

The British minister said in a statement today that the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip allows for the entry of more aid into Gaza, but one of the vital agencies - UNRWA - faces the brink of the abyss next week in terms of funding shortfall.

The minister pointed out that the children of the occupied Palestinian territories have access to health care and education thanks to UNRWA, and it must be able to work, especially now.

Anneliese Dodds underscored the urgency of the entry of aid being an essential part of the ceasefire, and aid and commercial goods must arrive in large quantities.
