Lightning strike kills and injures 16 in Eastern China

Local authorities in Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province, eastern China, announced the death of 6 people and the injury of 10 others, after a lightning strike caused a pavilion in a park to collapse last Sunday.
According to the Chinese News Agency (Xinhua), the lightning struck the town of Hengshanqiao in the economic development
zone of Changzhou City, causing the pavilion to collapse and trapping some people who were sheltering from the rain inside it.
The agency indicated that after the search and rescue work, all 16 people were transferred to the hospital, where 6 of them were seriously injured and later died, while the other 10 are in stable condition.
