Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas strongly condemned the assassination of Hamas Movement leader Ismail Haniyeh, describing it as a cowardly act and a dangerous development.
In a brief statement published by the Palestinian news agency (WAFA), the Palestinian president called on the Palestinian people and their forces to maintain the national unity, patience and determination to continue their struggle against the Israeli occupation.
