Inflation rate in UK remains stable at 2 percent

Official data showed on Wednesday that the inflation rate calculated by the Consumer Price Index in the UK remained stable at 2% during the past month of June.

The data, included in a report by the UK Office for National Statistics (ONS), attributed this stability to the rise in prices of tourism services, especially hotels, against the decline in the prices of clothing and communications.

It explained that the prices of restaurants and hotels rose between May and June last by 1.5%, while clothing prices fell by 1.4% and communications by 1.2%.
