An earthquake measuring 5 on the Richter scale hit the eastern Philippines today, and no information has yet been received about material damage or human casualties as a result of the earthquake.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said in a statement that the earthquake occurred 31 kilometers southeast of the Philippine city of Balangiga.
