Bulgarian President Rumen Radev and Pope Francis called for stopping the bloody wars in Ukraine and the Gaza Strip where thousands of innocent people have been killed.

They launched their call during their meeting today, Thursday, in Rome.

The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) quoted Radev as saying "This calls for awareness, reason and efforts from the entire international community to look for pathways to peace based on international law".

The Bulgarian President told the press: "I expressed a view just like his. It is time for reason, time to count on diplomacy, because we have seen that peace cannot be achieved solely by economic and military means. It is time for diplomacy", BTA reported.
