His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, held discussions today, Thursday, with the Ambassador of the United Kingdom(UK) to the Republic of Yemen Richard Oppenheim over the ongoing efforts to revive the political process.

The conversations covered several topics including the Yemeni-British bilateral relations, regional and international efforts to alleviate the humanitarian suffering and the good offices to revive the political process amid the intransigence of the Iranian regime-backed Houthi militias.

President al-Alimi praised the supportive stances of the UK in support of the Yemeni people and its struggle for restoring the State's institutions, security, stability and development.

The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council called on the international community to mount pressures upon Houthi militias and their bakers in order to come to peace, earnestly engage in the good offices aiming to end the protracted humanitarian suffering.
