President Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, received today the US Ambassador to Yemen, Steven Fagin, to discuss developments in the Yemeni situation and areas of bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries.
The President of the Presidential Leadership Council praised the US position in support of the Council, the government and the Yemeni people, including the recent US pledges under the United Nations Humanitarian Response Plan.
President Al-Alimi also praised the role of the US Navy, regional allies, and international partners in intercepting more arms shipments, Iranian drugs smuggled to the terrorist Houthi militia, and the violent networks supported by the Iranian regime and its subversive project in the region.
The meeting also touched on developments especially the regional and international efforts to renew the truce and revive the political process, in accordance with the agreed terms of reference, and the Saudi initiative to bring peace and stability to Yemen.
