President Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, stressed the importance of strengthening the role of control and audit agencies in the public work system, and ensuring the principles of accountability and integrity, to protect public money, equal opportunities, and broad partnership among all citizens.

This came when he received today, Wednesday, along with Council member Abdul Rahman Al-Mahrami, from the head of the Control and Audit Authority, Judge Abu Bakr Hussein Al-Saqqaf, the authority’s report regarding the results of the review and evaluation of the Central Bank of Yemen from the date of starting its work in the interim capital, Aden in 2016 until the end of the fiscal year 2021.

The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council stressed the importance of oversight and accounting work, combating corruption and abuse of power, in the ongoing efforts to build state institutions and strengthening law enforcement agencies.

His Excellency the President urged for efforts to be doubled to secure a comprehensive and transparent review of all imbalances and weaknesses in the financial and banking sector, and various state structures, and to reduce negative practices that harm the interests of citizens, and work to alleviate their human suffering.
