His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohamed El Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, met today, Tuesday, with President of the Republic of Gabon, Ali Bongo Ondimba, to discuss the developments in the Yemeni file, and the desired role of the Gabonese Republic as a member of the Security Council for the years 2022-2023.
The President expressed his appreciation for the political support provided by Gabon in order to revive the political process in Yemen, despite the intransigence of the Houthi militia backed by the Iranian regime.
Gabon is also a member of the Yemen Sanctions Committee established under Security Council Resolution 2140.
