Presidential Council continues to discuss local developments and path of humanitarian truce
[21/07/2022 01:55]

Aden – Saba
The Presidential Leadership Council, headed by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Council, continued to discuss developments in the local situation, the path of the humanitarian truce, and the necessary reforms in some service sectors.

The meeting was held in the presence of members of the Council, Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, Abdul Rahman Al-Mahrami, and Othman Majali, and through the Visual Communication Department, Tariq Saleh, and Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, while the members of the Council, Sultan Al-Arada, and Faraj Al-Bahsani were absent with an excuse.

The Council heard a report on the economic and living situation, exchange rates, food and consumer goods, the level of supply of oil derivatives, and electricity generation, and approved a number of measures to control and stabilize the prices of goods and supply services.

The Council also heard a report from a member of the council, Tariq Saleh, on the military and security situation on the Hodeidah and Taiz fronts since the humanitarian truce entered into force last April. The report referred to the violations of the Iranian-backed Houthi militia, which left dozens of civilian casualties, including the internationally prohibited landmines, the closure of vital roads in the face of the public and transport of goods, and the continuation of Houthi military mobilization to the frontlines with the armed forces.

The council also reviewed two reports from the governor of Al-Bayda and the security authorities about the egregious violations of human rights committed by the Houthi militia in the peaceful village of Khubza, including the suffocating cut of provisions which prevented the people from accessing medical services and food commodities, and directed the government to urgently intervene to provide relief to the residents of the stricken village in coordination with local and international humanitarian organizations.
