RIYADH-SABA
Yemen's President Abd-Rabbu Mansou Hadi said, "The continuous agony of our people is a consequence of the Houthi coup (in 2014) and Iran's scheme in Yemen and the region, a thing which we hope the new UN special envoy will understand while tracing back the origins of the crisis."
In a meeting with his deputy Ali Mohsen Saleh and the heads of the government and the parliament in Riyadh today, Hadi noted that the UN was a key actor in the political process by the UN Security Council's convening of meeting in Sana'a and "supervising all the transformation process from the brokerage of the GCC Initiative, through the National Conference to the issuance of the relevant resolutions mainly resolution no. 2216."
The Vice President briefed the meeting on the situation in the battlefield, pointing to the Houthi persistence in military escalation and brainwashing and recruiting countless number of people to their Iranian inspired futile war, heedless of all efforts being exerted toward peace mediation.
The president hailed the national warriors' performance and the Saudi-led coalition's support, praying for the fallen heroes and wishing recovery for the wounded.
