President Hadi receives the UN's envoy to Yemen

The President of the Republic Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi along with Vice President (Lt Gen) Ali Mohsen Saleh received Wednesday the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary General Martin Griffiths.

Hadi's conversations with Griffiths focused on the latest developments in the Yemeni national scene including the formation of the new technocrats government, Aden airport terrorist attack and Iranian regime's interventions in Yemen.

Mr. Griffiths conveyed the congratulation of the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres to President Hadi on the formation of the new Yemeni government under Riyadh Agreement. He also expressed Mr. Guterres' condemnation of Aden airport terrorist operation occurred as the government arrived at the airport.

President Hadi voiced his deep appreciation and gratitude to the UN Chief for his efforts aiming to achieve peace in Yemen that the Yemeni people are desperately looking for but Iran-backed Houthi militia has proved repeatedly that it is seeking for prolonging the war to serve the Iranian agendas.

Hadi blamed Houthi militia for Aden airport terrorist operation, describing it as a terrorist criminal action demonstrates the militias' bloody approach.

President Hadi blamed the Iranian regime for its flagrant interferences in the Yemeni internal affairs and its support for the Houthi insurgent militia's activities through the acts of what it called as its ambassador in Sana'a, and his activity and presence in violation of all international laws and diplomatic norms.

Hadi reiterated his support for the UN envoy's efforts, highly appreciating the UN Chief's support for the new Yemeni government and his condemnation of Aden terrorist attack.

Mr. Griffiths stated that he is looking forward to visit the interim capital Aden to affirm the support of the UN and International Community for the government's efforts and the condemnation of the attacks on civil facilities and civilians. He also voiced willingness to provide support in this regard.

The Director of the Republic Presidency Office Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi was in attendance.
