President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi told the new Special Envoy of the UN Secretary General that the previous peace talks experience the government held with Houthis showed that the rebels don't honor the deals and commitments.
In a meeting with Martin Griffiths in Riyadh on Tuesday, Hadi said the rebels don't even care the least bit about the United Nations resolutions while carrying on resolutely toward their maximalist ends, a foreign agenda.
Hadis meeting with Griffiths was also attended by Vice President Lt. General Ali Mohsen, Prime Minister Ahmed bin-Daghr and Dep. Prmeier and Foreign Minister Abdul-Malik al-Mekhlafi.
Hadi said that "we will always continue to call for peace to affirm our principle attitude, out of our national and moral responsibility toward our nation."
Hadi briefed Griffiths on how the Houthis' coup, last-minute sabotage of Yemen's then-imminent historical transformation in 2014, and ensuing horrendous attacks and blockades against Yemeni cities plunged the country in the humanitarian crisis Yemen is seeing today.
Griffiths expressed his optimism in the prospect of achieving the Yemeni people's aspirations and ending the people's suffering. He said that he would spend intense efforts to mediate peace.
