President of Republic orders free-market fuels

President of the Republic Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi has instructed the government Monday to endorse a free market fuels and give all firms and traders an opportunity to import and purchase fuels through all Yemeni seaports.

President Hadi said:" In reference to the Overall Humanitarian Response Operations announced by Suadi-led Coalition for restoring legality, and due to the humanitarian situation our country has been experiencing, and to ease businesses procedures to bring all basic commodities for the Yemeni people, and to reduce prices of necessary commodities including fuels: all necessary measures shall be taken to open fuels market and allow all companies and traders to import and purchase fuels in all Yemeni seaports including the ones in the Iran-backed Houthi militia controlled regions".

The President emphasized on the importance of annulling all constraints may hinder transport, making transport' fees reasonable under Ministry of Transport judgments. Procedures need to be accelerated and eased in the seaports so that permitted period shall not exceed 72 hours, harbors shall be instructed to operate two shifts daily.

The President of the Republic also ordered to suspend customs over fuels from now on to bring down prices. All these procedures and measures shall be reviewed after three months so evaluate positive impacts upon peoples' living conditions.
