President, UN envoy discuss latest developments in Yemen, peace efforts

President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi and UN Envoy to Yemen Ismail OuldChikh Ahmad discussed on Monday latest developments in Yemen and efforts of the United Nation for realizing peace and implementing the UN related resolutions topped by Resolution 2216.

The meeting dealt with latest developments in the Capital Sana'a and quick incidents under social uprising against Houthi rebellion.

They also discussed joint efforts for evacuating foreign nationals and UN and international organizations' staffs from Sana'a for keeping their safety.

"We praise your efforts exerted for peace we are calling for and provided for its' purpose consecutive concessions embarking of our national and moral responsibilities towards our people," said President Hadi, adding these efforts " have been met with rejection and stubbornness by Houthi rebel militias, which do not care for suffering of our people in their proceed of implementing its desires and their foreign agenda for conveying Iranian Mullah's rule to Yemen."

"We have been peace advocates and we will proceed with extending hand for that despite all our suffering and aftermaths of war triggered by rebels who do not honor promises or pledges, neglecting international community and resolutions of international legality," he said.

For his part, OuldCheikh expressed pleasure for meeting with the president, saying he is following up developments in Yemen and incidents in the capital Sana'a.

He called for peace, which is based on the UN related resolutions, mainly Resolution 2216.
