RIYADH-SABA
President Abdu Rabbo Mansour Hadi asserted to the UN Secretary General's Special Envoy for Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh his permanent commitment to peace for the sake of the Yemeni people who are, and have always been, suffering from the coup militias-imposed war.
President Hadi received the UN envoy this evening in a meeting, attended by Yemen's Foreign Minister Abdul-Malik al-Mekhlafi, which discussed the prospects of peace based on the three terms of reference; the GCC initiative, the National Dialogue Outcomes and the UN respective resolutions, on top of which is resolution 2216.
The President said the coup militias imposed the war to carry out vendetta desires and alien agendas in our society. Hadi praised the envoy's peace efforts "despite the coup militia's policy of dodging, foot-dragging and never keeping good on promises, a persistent character of the rebel movement.
The president condemned the heinous attempt on the UN envoy's safety during his last visit to Sana'a, saying that demonstrates the rebels' "ruinous approach."
