His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) stated that any approach to put an end of the war in Yemen will never be successful, unless it deals with the Houthi militias as part of an Iranian cross-border scheme, and not as a local political party, warning that reducing any crisis of this kind to truces and arrangements for a ceasefire will lead to temporary risk management rather than building sustainable peace.

Al-Khanbashi: We're Very keen to Increase Customs Revenues, Develop Coast Guard Capacities, Support Hadhramaut University

The Member of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), Governor of Hadhramaut governorate Salem al-Khanbashi declared that the PLC and Local Authority in Hadramout are keenly seeking to improve the performance of the Customs Services, upgrade the capacities of the Coast Guard and support the University of Hadramout and its academic staff.

" We're very interested in developing the actions of the Customs authorities. Imbalances must be addressed and deficiencies should be corrected in order to improve the customs proceeds", he said.

His remark came during his meeting today, Sunday, with the Director of the Customs Office, Omar Ya'ees and the Commander of the Coast Guard forces Colonel Omar al-Sa'i.

He underscored the importance of upgrading the Coast Guard capacities so that they can do their job effectively.

" The Local Authority pays great attention to the Coast Guard, we're going to do our best to provide them with the necessary equipment to enable them to carry out their national and security tasks", he said.

The Member of the PLC also held a meeting today with the head of the administrative board of the Faculty Members and Assistants Union at Hadhramout University Dr. Ali Abdulaziz Baashan and a number of union members.

The meeting aimed to discuss the conditions of the academic staff at Hadhramout University, the challenges need to be addressed and ways to develop the educational and academic process and environment in line with the requirements of the current stage.

Al-Khanbashi confirmed the commitment of the PLC and the Local Authority to supporting the University of Hadramout and improving the conditions of the academic staff within the available resources .
