His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) has asserted that the PLC has been determined to keep the course of the comprehensive reforms to improve the efficiency of state institutions, take necessary measures to boost the role of anti-corruption mechanisms, support the COCA with capabilities and competencies to enable it doing its job effectively.
His remark came during his meeting today, Wednesday, with the Chair of the Central Organization for Control and Auditing (COCA) Judge Abubakr al-Saqaf.
Al-Saqaf handed al-Alimi a number of reports on the outcomes of the COCA's reviewing the work of institutions, government agencies and productive sectors.
The Chair of COCA also reported to the Chairman of the PLC about COCA's revising and accounting activities during the past period, difficulties and challenges it faces, the measures required to enhance its performance and tasks, as well as its legal and constitutional powers to achieve effective oversight of public funds and ensure their proper management in terms of economy, efficiency and effectiveness.
President al-Alimi stated the PLC is very keen to continue to reforms program, further strengthen the role of COCA, establish the Supreme Committee for Tenders and Auctions and the Supreme Authority for Oversight of Government Tenders and Auctions, in accordance with the applicable regulations and laws.
