President al-Alimi meets with Mahra local authority leadership

President Dr. Rashad Mohammed al-Alimi, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, held Tuesday a meeting with the leadership of the local authority in Mahra Governorate.

The meeting included the Secretary-General of the Local Council of Mahra Governorate Salem Abdullah Nimer, the Technical Delegate of the Governorate Awadh Qwaizan and several General Managers of the districts, offices, and executive bodies.

The meeting focused on discussing security, military and service conditions, as well as the necessary measures to improve the efficiency of authorities and support their efforts to achieve security and stability, meeting their commitments to citizens.

The President listened to briefings from the Minister of Defense, the Chairman of the Supreme Security Committee, the Minister of Public Works and Roads and the Secretary-General of the Local Council, regarding the overall situation in the governorate across all military, security and service levels, and the progress of projects supported by the government and local authority, despite the catastrophic repercussions of Houthi terrorist attacks on oil facilities and maritime shipping vessels.

The meeting also addressed the measures and actions taken to remedy the damages caused by climate changes that the governorate has suffered from in recent years.

President al-Alimi praised the role of security and military agencies in enhancing security and stability and combating smuggling, including the smuggling of Iranian weapons to Houthi terrorist militias.

He directed the authority of Mahra to intensify efforts to strengthen the presence of the state and contribute to supporting the government's vision to improve revenues and implement comprehensive reforms at various levels.
