Yemen Says Houthi Militia Poses Direct Threat to Regional Peace, Condemns Attacks on Gulf Infrastructure
Yemen has affirmed that the Iran-backed Houthi militia poses a direct threat to regional peace and security and to international navigation, saying the group is a tool used to undermine Yemen’s sovereignty and stability, disrupt basic services, and obstruct the delivery of humanitarian assistance to those in need.

Newly Appointed Judges to Supreme Court Take Oath of Office

A group of newly appointed judges to the Supreme Court took the oath of office before Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Rashad al-Alimi. The ceremony was attended by Head of the Supreme Judicial Council, Chief Justice Mohsen Yahya Talib.
The judges, appointed under Presidential Decree No. 327 of 2024, are: Judge Muhammad Faraj Salem Sabti, Judge Ahmed Saeed Khamis Bin Aroura, Judge Fadl Abdullah Ali Mukbil, Judge Jalal Obaid Muhammad Al-Marfadi, and Judge Muhammad Qaid Salem Muhammad Humaidan.
Following the oath-taking ceremony, President Al-Alimi met with the newly appointed judges, congratulating them on their appointments and wishing them success in their future endeavors.
He emphasized the critical role judges play in upholding justice, enforcing the rule of law, and protecting social values amid the ongoing war imposed by the Houthi militia.
The President reaffirmed the Presidential Leadership Council's commitment to the principle of separation of powers and the independence of the judiciary, ensuring non-interference in judicial affairs and working to improve the conditions of judicial personnel.
