His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) sent today, Monday, a cable of condolences and sympathy to the Secretary of State of the Vatican, Cardinal Kevin Joseph Farrell, on the death of the head of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis.

The President, on his behalf and the members of the PLC and the government, expressed his sincere condolences and sincere sympathy to the Vatican City, all Christians and followers of the Catholic Church on the death of the Supreme Pontiff, affirming that the world lost with his passing a symbol of tolerance, love, and coexistence among all peoples and religions.

The Chairman of the PL highly praised the wisdom of the Pope, his courageous humanitarian positions along with just causes, his firm commitment to supporting the values of coexistence, goodness, the rejection of violence, extremism and racism and his remarkable contributions to promoting dialogue among civilizations, the last of which was his sincere message and sincere wishes to the Yemeni people to end their human suffering and restore hope, security, stability, and peace.
