President al-Alimi receives U.S. Ambassador

RIYADH - SABA
His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) received today, Tuesday, the Ambassador of the United States to the Republic of Yemen Steven Fagin.

They conferred over Yemeni-American bilateral relations and cooperation in different levels.
The conversations covered also a range of topical issues including the developments in the Yemeni national arena, the ongoing efforts to protect the maritime waterways, deter the attacks by the Iranian regime backed terrorist Houthi militias on the maritime shipping lanes and the commercial ships.

The President celebrated the Yemeni-American robust bilateral ties, highly appreciating the American role in enforcing the resolution of the embargo on the smuggled Iranian weapons to the Houthi militias and draining the sources of funding the Group and its terrorist activity.

The Chairman of the PLC restated that there is a pressing need for a collective global approach to support the Yemeni government's efforts to manage the economic and humanitarian challenges, strengthen its capacities to combat terrorism, organized crimes and secure its regional waters as a reliable partners in protecting the international security and peace.
