President al-Alimi meets with the Parliament headship

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) met today, Sunday, with the Speaker of the Parliament Sheikh Sultan al-Barakani and Deputy Speakers Eng. Mohammed al-Shadadi and Dr. Mohsen Ba-Sarrah to discuss the developments of the political, economic and services situations.

President al-Alimi updated the leadership of the Parliament on the latest developments about the economic situations and the ongoing efforts to stabilize the exchange rates and basic commodity prices and to accelerate the efforts to carry out the economic rescue plan and the practical measures to alleviate the humanitarian suffering, which has been exacerbated by the terrorist attacks of the Iranian regime backed Houthi militias on oil facilities and international shipping lanes.

The President cited the outcomes of his recent meetings and talks with the regional and international partners about the urgently needed interventions to improve the national currency position, the comprehensive reforms and to secure the basic services and commodities supplies.

In this context, the Chairman of the PLC reiterated thanks and appreciation to the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates for their constant support for the state general budget in order to help the government to deliver on its obligations, first of all, to pay the employees' salaries, secure basic commodities and services for millions of the Yemenis all over the country.

The Speaker of the Parliament briefed the Chairman of the PLC on the Parliament's activities during the previous period and its future action plans to resume its sessions.
