ADEN - SABA
Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi met Sunday at the Maasheeq Palace here with Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awadh bin Mubarak, Head of the Economic Team Hossam Al-Sharjabi, and Deputy Head of the Team Othman Al-Hadi.

They discussed the latest developments in economic, financial, and monetary conditions, as well as coordinated measures with all authorities to curb inflation and strengthen the value of the national currency.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister provided an update on changes in the economic, financial, and monetary situation, along with proposed interventions to improve the position of the national currency and mitigate the side effects of price fluctuations on living and service conditions.

The meeting addressed the necessary efforts to combat smuggling in all its forms, activate laws that encourage the role of relevant authorities at sovereign ports, and enhance their presence in protecting national products and industries.

In this context, the meeting emphasized a set of necessary measures and actions to contain the public budget deficit, deter currency speculators, rationalize the import bill, control the money supply, and monitor it.

It also called for the activation of law enforcement agencies to support the independence of the Central Bank and its legal policies in managing the banking sector.

During the meeting, President al-Alimi reiterated the urgency of implementing the economic rescue plan and mitigating the repercussions of the monetary division imposed by the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias.

He also praised the role of brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and regional and international partners in supporting the government's efforts to fulfill its essential obligations, primarily paying salaries, securing goods, providing basic services, and ensuring a decent livelihood for millions of Yemenis across the country.
