Al-Alimi, US Ambassador discuss Yemen, regional and international developments

Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Rashad al-Alimi received on Monday the US Ambassador to Yemen, Steven H.

Fagin and discussed with him the bilateral US-Yemeni cooperation, the latest developments on the Yemeni, regional and international level, and ways to coordinate identical stances regarding them.

The meeting talks touched on the Houthi attacks on ships and international shipping lines and their catastrophic impact on the living conditions of the Yemeni people, and the Yemeni economy and regional economies.

Al-Alimi spoke about the impacts of the terrorist Houthi atrocities in abuse of human rights, and the Houthi persistence in sabotaging chances of peace mediated by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Nations Special Envoy, including the militia's foot-dragging in paying long unpaid salaries for public servicemen in militant-controlled regions in addition to the militia's escalated military hostilities in various front lines, the Houthi years long siege on Taiz, and the recruitment of child fighters into sectarian indoctrination camps .

The President asserted the priority of backing the government in the economic, financial and administrative reforms track to deliver its obligations, and restore its exclusive right to keeping arms and to law enforcement.
