His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Councl, made telephone calls to the governors of Hadramout, al-Mahra and Socotra governorates to know about the latest developments of the Cyclone Storm “Tej” which is expected to affect the three governorates this week.
His Excellency was briefed by the governors about the local authorities’ preparations to deal with the repercussions of the tropical storm and mitigate its potential effects on the citizens, public and private properties.
The President directed the government and local authorities to make necessary preparations , redouble precautionary measures and coordinate with various agencies including military and security agencies, community committees, regional and international organizations to reduce any possible effects of the tropical cyclone in the eastern governorates.
The Early Warning Center urged the citizens in al-Mahra and Socotra governorates and parts of the eastern districts of Hadhramaut to be careful and cautious prior the tropical storm which has already begun today, Saturday, on Socotra governorate and coastal areas and regional waters
