Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, along with Member of the Council Aidrus al-Zubaidi, met Friday with the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly's 78th Round, discussing with him latest developments in Yemen.
President al-Alimi praised the role of the UN and the Secretary General of avoiding repercussions of the worst humanitarian crisis in the world over Houthi militia's triggered war on Yemeni people.
He discussed with him economic, service and rights reforms are being carried out by the council and the government and needed UN interventions in different levels, especially UN urgent interventions to limit impacts of illegal migration and combating money laundering.
For his part, the UN Secretary General confirmed the organization's commitment on supporting the Presidential Leadership Council and the government and mobilizing necessary resources to alleviate humanitarian suffering.
He also confirmed directing all efforts for renewing the UN Truce and resuming political process in Yemen to enable Yemeni people build their state, which is based on partnership and respecting human rights.
