Leadership Council Chairman receives Arab League Secretary-General

Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi along with Council member Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi received today Wednesday at his residence in New York, the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, on the sidelines of the meetings of the United Nations General Assembly, which began on Tuesday.

In the meeting, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council renewed his praise for the role of the Arab League and its General Secretariat in supporting the cause of the Yemeni people and advocating for it in all regional and international forums.

The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, the Secretary-General of the Arab League, presented the situation in Yemen and the commendable mediation efforts of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman in order to renew the truce and launch a comprehensive political process under the auspices of the United Nations.

For his part, Aboul Gheit affirmed the Arab League’s firm position on the side of Yemen and its people, and achieving its aspirations to restore state institutions, security, stability, development, and peace.
